The Quality System operated by Africa Pipe Industries places emphasis on problem prevention rather than detection. The Africa Pipe Industries Quality system operates in accordance to ISO 9001:2008, by use of the Quality Manual and the Quality Plan, ITP, procedures and instructions and surveillance and audit of the various activities from the receipt of materials to final shipment of the completed product.
The day to day operation of the system is undertaken by the QA/QC Manager who shall Endeavour to continually improve the effectiveness of the system. The overall responsibility for maintenance and effectiveness of the Quality system lies with the Pipe Factory Manager. Such procedures shall clearly identify responsibilities, references, codes, specifications, instructions and the appropriate forms or documents associated with that activity to be able to provide verification of compliance to the customer’s requirements. The system operation shall include specific procedures which are detailed in the following text. A list of the procedures utilized to control the operation of the system is noted in appendix 1.0 of this plan.
Senior management of Africa Pipe Industries utilize the Quality Management system to control all activities associated with the quality of the product such activities are pre planned and the quality objectives are established with adequate interfaces and customer requirements incorporated in to the operation of the system to ensure that such requirements and objectives are known at all functions, stages and levels of the operation. The management through their commitment shall also ensure that the system is maintained and fully operational at all times and where changes are required these are planned and documented.
